Love Renewed

You can’t just give love once and expect it to last.

…Or twice, or three times, or ten.

Love needs to be regularly renewed.

…Twice, three times, ten times per day!

…Or week or whatever works for you and yours.

But it will only last so long as it is renewed.

As soon as you stop renewing your love, like Netflix, it’ll only be a matter of time before it expires.

Do Not Touch

From where do you allocate extra time when you get really busy?

From:

  • Family time?
  • Reading time?
  • Sleep time?

Or:

  • TV time?
  • Video game time?
  • Social media time?

Here’s the thing: Certain priorities should never be touched.

If they are, you’re too busy.

Or, hate to break it to you, they aren’t (really) a priority.

Period.

Don’t Sleep On This One

Underrated productivity hack: move slower.

When you move slower your mental and physical state calms.

When you’re calm your mind thinks more clearly.

When you think more clearly you get more done.

Easy For You. Hard For Others.

When work aligns with your strengths, it flows and feels easy—even when it’s hard.

When work aligns with your weaknesses, it crawls and feels hard—even when it’s easy.

A good indication that you’re in alignment with your strengths is if you lose track of time while working.

If you find yourself constantly checking the time, either the work you’re doing is too mundane or you’re in alignment with your weaknesses.

Ask yourself: What’s easy for you that’s hard for others?

And then figure out ways you can do more of that.

The Path To Easier

Things usually get harder before they get easier.

If things aren’t going as easily as you’d like, maybe it’s because you’re avoiding what’s hard.

  • Relationship issues? Usually stem from an avoidance of hard conversations.
  • Career issues? Usually result from not doing enough of what’s hard, first.
  • Joy issues? Usually turn up when harder to handle emotions aren’t properly dealt with.

The solution, of course, is to stop avoiding what’s hard and confront it head on.

Only then will the path finally become easier.

Fresh Eyes

One of my neighbors rents their house on AirBnB.

I saw the renters taking pictures of the rental, playing as a family in the backyard, and walking the neighborhood with intrigue.

It reminded me to look around with fresh eyes.

That the life we’ve become used to, someone else only dreams to have.

Like You Mean It

Back up. Chin up. Eyes straight ahead.

When you speak? Speak loud and clear.

Presentation is important. Delivery is important.

When you do these things, the exact same words said in the exact same context hit completely differently.

And your words, the ones you so carefully chose, will stand to reach their full potential.

What a shame to see them end up otherwise.
